AWC’s May Meeting

Remember to RSVP to meetingrsvp@springfieldmo.org for AWC’s May meeting on Tuesday, May 1 by Thursday, April 26. Networking will start at 11:30 and the program will begin at noon.

Program Overview: Creative Touch Points: Using Guerilla Marketing to Become Visible to Your Audience

Small marketing budgets and increasing media clutter can make it difficult for organizations of any size to effectively communicate with target audiences. Bypass these obstacles by adopting creative and affordable guerilla marketing techniques that transform mundane experiences into memorable audience touch points. Join Regina Waters and Claire Chrisman as they present the fundamentals of guerilla marketing and highlight innovative tactics that accomplish the low-budget, high-impact goals of this non-traditional approach to marketing.

Regina Waters, Ph.D., is a professor of communication at Drury University and chair of the Department of Communication. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations and integrated marketing communications. Regina is the faculty advisor to DC Networks, Drury’s student AWC chapter.

Claire Chrisman is a senior at Drury University who is majoring in advertising, public relations, and design arts. For her senior capstone project she created an implemented a guerilla marketing campaign for the Coffee Ethic. Claire is the account executive for Drury’s Ad Team and has facilitated the team’s efforts to create an integrated marketing communications plan for Nissan as part of the American Advertising Federation National Student Advertising Competition. Claire is president of DC Networks and will graduate in May 2012.
